Expertise

Erik Taal is van oorsprong sociaal psycholoog. Zijn expertise ligt op het terrein van sociaal psychologische aspecten van gezondheidsvraagstukken en patiëntenvoorlichting, in het bijzonder met betrekking tot reumatische aandoeningen.

Onderzoeksprojecten

Het onderzoek van Erik Taal richt zich op psychosociale aspecten van reumatische aandoeningen. Het onderzoek wordt uitgevoerd in een samenwerkingsverband van de afdeling Psychologie en Communicatie van Gezondheid en Risico (PCGR) van de Universiteit Twente en de afdeling reumatologie en klinische immunologie van het Medisch Spectrum Twente in Enschede.

Centrale thema van het onderzoek is “Het patiëntenperspectief”. In het onderzoek zijn twee hoofdlijnen te onderscheiden: “Ondersteuning van patiënten en informatie-technologie” en “Evaluatie van instrumenten voor het meten van gezondheidstoestand en kwaliteit van leven”.
